Wal-Mart leaks Xbox 360 pricing

Wal-Mart has apparently leaked the price and launch date of Microsoft's upcoming Xbox 360 console. The game system will reportedly be available on November 4, and as many had expected, it will slip just under the $300 mark and sell for $299.99. Launch titles are slated to sell for $59.99—$10 more than current Xbox games.

If the Xbox 360 launches with a sub-$300 price point, it will almost surely be more affordable than Sony's upcoming PlayStation 3. In fact, Sony CEO Ken Kutaragi has already hinted that the Cell-powered console could cost more than some are expecting:

Speaking to leading Japanese economic web site Toyo Keizai, Kutaragi-san said that players would need to work hard for their PS3, dropping the following bombshell: "Our goal for PlayStation 3 is for consumers to think to themselves, 'I will work more hours to buy one'. We want people to feel that they want it, irrespective of anything else."
That's a little crazy.
