Samsung pleads guilty to DRAM price-fixing
Today, Samsung pled guilty to charges stemming from its role in a DRAM price-fixing scheme affecting Dell, HP, Apple, IBM, and others. On top of the $345 million paid by conspirators Hynix and Infineon, the US
Department of Justice will collect an additional $300 million in fines from Samsung, the second largest penalty in U.S. antitrust history. Samsung's plea marks the conclusion of a three-year investigation of the largest DRAM manufacturers, with absolutely no mention of Rambus.
