GeForce 7800 GS prototype won't make it to market

It looks like the GeForce 7800 GS engineering prototypes that have been making the rounds won't materialize as commercial products. NVIDIA's Brian Burke has confirmed that the company "has NO plans to release a commercially available GeForce 7800 GS PCI Express board," although some are clinging to the fact that the statement doesn't preclude an AGP version of the card. It seems likely that GeForce 7 technology will trickle down to mid-range products eventually, but those products may bear little resemblance to the GeForce 7800 GS.
