Desktop graphics market share numbers released

The Inquirer has desktop graphics market share numbers for the fourth quarter of 2005. ATI and NVIDIA's respective market shares didn't changed much from the third quarter of the year, with ATI retaining 24% of the market and NVIDIA nudging up one point to 23%. Intel suffered the most, with its inability to meet demand for low-end integrated graphics chipsets resulting in a 5% drop in overall market share. Most of that 5% went to VIA/S3, whose market share jumped from 11% to 15%. Despite its loss, Intel still commands the lion's share of desktop graphics with 32% of the market.
