Toshiba delays HD-DVD players yet again
Toshiba has decided to push back the US release
of its HD-DVD players until April in order to synchronize with the launch of the first HD-DVD movie titles, which are expected on April 18. The company was previously expected
to launch its players on March 28, a whole three weeks before any titles would become
available. The first two HD-DVD players, dubbed HD-XA1 and HD-A1, will launch at $799 and $499, respectively. Toshiba did not give a precise date in April for their release, though. Competing Blu-ray players and movie titles are also expected to have a synchronized launch, albeit roughly a month later on May 23.
