Whew, looking for news out there but I'm not finding much. Here's a fun change of pace: See how many annoying statements you can find in this story. It's a CNN.com article that reports the results of a study of DSL and cable modems by IDC (International Data Corp).

I found that the ridiculous parts could be generally grouped into (A) "predictions" so obvious that a blind monkey in a coma could've figured them out, such as "Neither one [cable or DSL] will eliminate the other," and (B) blanket generalizations that border on technological stereotyping, such as "Cable is also much slower uploading data [than DSL] . . . ." And please, don't even get me started on the whole 'DSL is dedicated, so it's automatically better than shared cable' thing.
