I’ve been waiting for this one. John Siracusa at Ars Technica has delivered his review of Mac OS X. He covers the works: performance, stability, memory handling, the user interface, the new Finder, emulating the bad old classic environment, and the Unix guts under the skin. From an initial look through the article, I’m reminded how promising OS X is in many areas, and how very cool Aqua looks.

(No, folks, I don’t hate Macs. It’s just that the Apple hype machine rubs me like a rusty cheese grater sometimes.)

John is brutally honest in his assessment of the OS overall, which is refreshing. Recommended reading.
