Show notes

In a mix of penance for last week’s podcast absence and momentum from our latest hit article, Jordan and Scott have teamed up for a special edition of the TR Podcast. Scott talks about his latest CPU roundup, what processors came out on top, and how our baseline Pentium 4 fared in comparison. The conversation also addresses our newest take on CPU and system value, overclocking, and more.

Podcast needs much more about the data in the article than your boasting about how popular and well received it was.

i forgot to mention the corei3 vs Athlon II article was really good, mean props for that effort.

one idea i had (not a complaint) was that it would be cool if we could plug in our own data into the price / performance chart, because for those of us who cant shop at newegg and the like our prices are generally a bit different

i wonder if theres any easy way that could be done, like through a spreadsheet, or maybe some google docs thingee. just an idea

would be cool, the main things i read in the articles is overall performance, and then price / performance. (of course power consumption and stuff all factors in but ultimately i think the over value is what really matters)

    thanks for the cast guys

Thanks for the .5 podcast, I like podcast of this type, not too long, focused on just one topic so you can talk a lot. But of coz, regular podcast is much more efficient in many ways than .5. Keep up the good work.

Ha ha ha ha!! Thanks VERY much, Jordan (and the whole crew of course). I happen to be travelling today and I’m enjoying listening to it on the plane and at JFK’s Delta terminal (ugh).

I agree on the out-of-cycle comments. I’d rather see you guys put together more thorough articles than concentrate on NDA+0 releases with only 2 days notice. The perspective of wider tests is refreshing.

Congrats on the traffic numbers. This is one of my favorite articles in the past several months.
