Show notes
Jordan is AWOL for this episode, but Scott, Geoff, and Cyril carry on like the pros they are. Our panelists kick things off with exciting news about Unreal Tournament, and they introduce the first of two guests featured on this episode: Alex Mei of OCZ. After a chat with Alex, Geoff lays down the word on Asus’ Z97-A Motherboard. Cyril follows up with a review of Rosewill’s newest mechanical keyboard, and then Geoff gives us a first look at Asus’ Hyper Express storage device. To wrap up the episode, top-10 contributor Kevin (a.k.a. “the”) chats with Scott about AMD’s K12.

That’s all, folks! We’ll see you on the next episode.
I want some good quality laptops based off low power CPUs as well. The fan on the AMD C50 laptop started to grind a couple days ago though I’ve managed to get it to calm down for now. Fans are always a problem for me though, I would love to go fanless. The A10 Micro-6700T looks like it could be really nice.
Love the special guests from industry and the community additions to the podcasts. I think I’m going to subscribe. Keep up the good work!
Which motherboard brand was the one that was described as having better software polish, better firmware polish, and radical improvements in fan controllers? I was sold on that brand for my next build, I just missed the name. =]
Could you guys put the times at which you discuss the topic in the article again? That was always very useful. Thanks!
I was kinda hoping to hear some back-and-forth between Geoff and the OCZ guy regarding the SSD endurance test but oh well. No biggie.
Z97: The review should have started the article with the conclusion. Golden opportunity has been missed.
Apple has been rumored to tap AMD for chips before. Trinity was rumored to be used in the MacBook Airs at some point. As part of development there AMD wrote drivers for the VLIW4 Radeons which appeared in late versions of OS X 10.7 and all OS X 10.8 released. The weirdness is that there is no VLIW4 Radeons (6900 series) released on the Mac side. So Mac users got drivers for hardware that never came to the platform.
Also that βtheβ guy sounds kinda shady. Almost like he could be a that guy[/url<] who is wrong on the internet.[/url<] π
Heh, yeah, busted. π
Thanks for being on the show!
